Doç.Dr. Ekrem Civaş

I was born in 1971, I graduated from Dicle University Faculty of Medicine in 1993. I completed my dermatology residency in 1999. While working as a Dermatology specialist at Numune Hospital in 2003, I opened my own private practice in Ankara Gaziosmanpaşa district. In 2007, I quit my job in Ankara Numune Hospital Dermatology Department.

Since 1999, I started to be more interested in Aesthetic Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery, and I received trainings in Turkey and abroad in order to increase their knowledge and experience.

I performed my first hair transplant operation with FUT method in 1999 and FUE method in 2006.

In the field of hair diseases and hair transplantation, I first worked on basic hair surgery training in Canada and America and experience sharing and advanced techniques in various clinics in Poland, Sweden and Spain respectively.

I attended the trainings organized by the Cutera Academy in 2005 New York and 2007 Barcelona on laser treatment of varicose veins and capillaries, laser spot treatment and non-surgical skin lifting with laser. In 2009, I published an important scientific study titled “Treatment of different vascular lesions with Nd-Yag laser”, which can be considered as the first in its field and then the book I wrote on the same subject was published in America by Nova Publisher.

I have attended current international meetings and received trainings on Botox and Filler applications and face shaping since 2001. I focused on safe and natural results injections that integrate with a personalized face.

Since 2001, I started working in the field of Botox, filling and non-surgical skin aesthetic applications.

I have 1 book, 4 book chapters, 30 scientific articles and 22 scientific posters, published nationally and internationally and worked as an educator, speaker and session chair at 61 national and international congresses.

In 2011, I received the American Board certificate in the field of Hair Surgery, and in 2015 I was accepted to the Fellow category in the USA. I became the first doctor in Turkey to qualify for this title in both fields.

I’m married and have two children.

Achievements

By fulfilling the necessary conditions in the field of hair surgery in the USA, he was accepted into the Fellow category and received the title of FISHRS.

He became the first doctor in Turkey to get the American Board diploma by passing the qualification exam organized by ABHRS (American Board of Hair Restoration surgery), which is one of the most reputable diplomas in the field of hair surgery in the world. He is the first dermatologist in our country who has the qualification to be an American hair surgery academic.

For the first time in the world, by comparing 3 different instruments in FUE and hair transplantation, he shed light on the limits of FUE and defined the suitable candidate profile with his study on the determination of follicular unit damage. The study was presented at the ESHRS (Eurepean Sosiceaty Of Hair Restoration Surgery) Madrid meeting and was also published in the journal ISHRS (American Hair Surgery Association).

His long-term follow-up on hair transplantation in alopecia areata has been accepted as a scientific article and has made a significant contribution to the surgical treatment of these patients.

A large case series study on hair transplantation techniques and case presentations in scalp, beard, eyebrow and mustache scars caused by a burn accident was accepted as a paper at the congress held by ISHRS in Boston.

Regarding the use of Nd-Yag laser, he wrote the section “use of nd-yag in vascular lesions” of the book published by Nova Publisher in the USA.

Among the most prestigious scientific medical journal Clinical interests of our country Turkey as “Hair” in the special edition is taken by the editorial task, it bears the distinction of being the first major books published in Turkish publication plantation.

He worked as a session chair-moderator in the “Hair Transplantation Course”, which was held for the first time in dermatology congresses at XXI Lütfü Tat Congress.
